Description Echocardiograph Technologist at Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center in Oregon City, OR.Per Diem/Day Shift

Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, transesophageal echocardiography, trans-catheter echo guided procedures, pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies, contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography.

Has the ability to modify procedures to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis. Will comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.

This position requires shared coverage for stand by and call back emergency studies in the evenings and weekends. This may include shared regional coverage to other Portland facilities and or rotation through staffed weekend shifts.

Required Qualifications
  • On hire:
    Oregon Sonographer
  • On hire:
    National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International, OR
  • On hire:
    National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International, OR
  • On hire:
    National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • On hire:
    National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Applied Science, from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • 1 year experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, OR
  • Minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.
  • Pediatric echocardiography experience.
  • Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).
  • Experience with echo guided trans-catheter procedures. (St. Vincent Medical Center)
