Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Emergency Medicine

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center
, Portland, OR

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Emergency Medicine provides care to adult and pediatric patients in our emergency department. We are a state-of-the‑art ED with 81 beds and over 90,000 visits annually. The specialist works closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide direct patient care, including responding to medical emergencies. They serve as a clinical leader on our team of emergency medicine clinical pharmacists, develop initiatives to improve medication management in the ED, and act as preceptors for pharmacy residents and student pharmacists.

Clinical pharmacists work 10‑hour shifts on weekdays and every third weekend.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to adult and pediatric patients in the emergency department.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to respond to medical emergencies.
  • Lead clinical pharmacy initiatives to improve medication management.
  • Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy residents and student pharmacists.
  • Work 10‑hour shifts on weekdays and every third weekend.
Qualifications
  • Pharm

    D – Pharmacy or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Oregon Pharmacist License upon hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of PGY1 residency training with 2 years of experience in a relevant practice setting or minimum 4 years of experience in specialty practice setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BPS Board Certified Pharmacist within 2 years of hire.
