Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Type: Full-time, Variable Shift
Responsibilities- Accurately and timely report high‑complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision.
- Perform pre‑analytical, analytical, and post‑analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance.
- Conduct quality control (QC) procedures on analytical equipment, reagents, and products with proper documentation.
- Review and evaluate test results for accuracy, recognizing testing problems and alerting senior personnel regarding discrepancies.
- Recognize and resolve instrument or sample errors, initiating and documenting corrective action.
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives and maintain laboratory quality control functions.
- Take appropriate action on specimens with critical values or abnormal results.
- Mentor and train new caregivers; evaluate technical personnel competency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a laboratory department.
- Proficiency in accurate and timely reporting of patient results across all phases of specimen analysis.
- Experience with quality assessment processes and continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to perform quality control analysis, instrument troubleshooting, and calibration.
- Knowledge of phlebotomy, specimen processing, laboratory analyzers, and instrumentation.
- Competence with personal computer and peripheral equipment.
$49,629 – $115,170 per year ($23.86 – $55.37 per hour). Additional compensation may be available such as shift differentials, on‑call, overtime, and bonuses.
