Summary

Pacific Seafood is seeking a motivated Financial Analyst Intern to play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the Central Support team while contributing to key project deliverables. This role provides a hands‑on opportunity to translate academic finance concepts into real‑world business applications. The intern will help build financial reports and dashboards, perform ad‑hoc analyses, and develop a strong understanding of Pacific Seafood’s business model.

This position is ideal for someone eager to strengthen analytical capabilities, gain exposure to corporate finance processes, and support data‑driven decision‑making in a fast paced, operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models used for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
  • Design, refine, and continuously improve recurring financial and operational reports and dashboards that provide accurate, timely insights to management.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly financial results, identify trends, and interpret variances against budget and prior year performance.
  • Assist in the creation of executive‑level financial presentations, dashboards, and summary reports.
  • Conduct profitability and margin analysis across key product categories, customer groups, and business segments.
  • Validate accuracy and consistency of financial data across accounting systems and planning/forecasting tools.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in analytical tools, reporting processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform ad‑hoc financial and operational analyses to support strategic initiatives and leadership requests.
  • Support broader Central Support objectives and take on additional duties as assigned.
What you bring to Pacific Seafood Required
  • Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree, with a graduation date no later than June of 2026, in:
    • Business Administration
    • Finance
    • Economics
    • Accounting
    • Or a closely related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong financial statement literacy, including ability to interpret income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ability to synthesize data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow‑through.
  • Basic PC knowledge.
Preferred
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data manipulation, and basic modeling techniques.
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to learning.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to understand how day‑to‑day financial activities support broader business goals.
