A growing national real estate company is seeking an experienced Controller to take ownership of its accounting operations and lead a high-performing team. If you’re a seasoned accounting leader who thrives on structure and building strong financial systems, this role offers the unique opportunity to make a lasting impact.
As Controller, you will oversee a small accounting team and report directly to ownership. This means that you’ll need to have a strict eye for detail, as you’ll lead the month-end closing processes, review and approve bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and manage partner distributions. Strong numeracy skills are crucial, as you’ll coordinate annual reporting and audits, provide tax schedules to external CPAs, and maintain compliance with personal property taxes, business licenses, and tax filings.
Any experience with family business accounting is highly valued, as you’ll be tasked with recording deposits and reimbursements, ensuring time vendor payments and adequate funding, and preparing tax schedules and estimated payments. You’ll also manage the general ledger for all sets of books, ensure compliance with 1099 filings, and perform treasury duties including wire transfers and internal bank transfers.
Success in this role requires strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to balance multiple deadlines and projects ’ll need to be organized and dependable, along with the ability to remain calm and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment.
This is an on-site role.
