Entry Level Tax Preparer

Description

We are looking for a skilled candidate to join our client's team on a contract basis as an Entry-Level Tax Preparer in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will assist clients with their individual tax return processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. If you have accounting or finance experience, and an interest in tax preparation we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

- Utilize Lacerte Tax software to efficiently complete tax filings and manage client data.

- Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all tax preparation activities.

- Organize and maintain client records, ensuring confidentiality and proper documentation.

- Collaborate with team members to address complex tax situations and provide solutions.

- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and ensure deadlines are met.

- Verify tax data and calculations to identify and correct discrepancies.

Requirements

- Prior experience in tax preparation, specifically for individual tax returns, is a plus!

- Proficiency with accounting or tax software.

- Strong understanding of current tax laws and regulations.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within deadlines.

- Prior experience in handling confidential financial information.

- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
