Portland Group is looking for a full time JUNIOR FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR at our group of companies. Our office is situated outside Durbanville on the Vissershok Road.
It is a fast paced, high performance, deadline driven environment. We require a organised, reliable and hard working individual with strong organisation skills to take up this full-time position.
This position reports to the Financial Manager. Responsibilities will include but is not limited to finance team administration and assisting with reconciliation of internal and external creditors.
Key Responsibilities:- Taking control of all finance team paperwork, including filing and archiving.
- Supporting the finance team with all administrative tasks required to ensure efficient operations within the finance office.
- Accurate allocation of bank entries.
- Monthly reconciliation of group bank accounts.
- Preparation of weekly payments for all entities in the group.
- Capturing of internal group transactions, monthly reconciliation of internal suppliers and preparation of all required support for payment of internal suppliers.
- Issuing of purchase orders.
- Supporting Creditors Clerk by performing three way matches between approved quotes, delivery notes and supplier invoices. Assisting with resolving any issues identified during this process.
- Capturing of supplier invoices.
- Reconciliation of external suppliers on a monthly basis.
- Ensuring complete and accurate soft copy record keeping of all source documents on the accounting system.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a financial administration or bookkeeping role
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High level of accuracy
- Ability to follow established procedures consistently
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks systematically
- Methodical approach to work with clear attention to detail
- Disciplined approach to filing, record-keeping and version control (digital and physical)

This position offers a market-related salary dependent on previous experience. Employees become members of a provident fund after their probation period. The annual close down is in December/January during the builder’s holiday. Working hours are from 08:00 to 17:0, but only until 15:00 on a Friday.
