Position Summary

This position entails taking ownership of financial accounting and control tasks delegated by the Finance Center of Excellence (CoE) to the subsidiaries of the London Stock Exchange Group. The role is deeply committed to handling centralized services for the Group, driving continuous improvement initiatives, encouraging resilience, and collaborating with key parties to seamlessly integrate new activities. The prospective candidate will play a pivotal role within the Finance CoE team, necessitating proficiency in project management, technical expertise, and the proactive management of crucial collaborator relationships.

Role

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for timely and accurate delivery in financial reporting and control related services to the subsidiaries within the Group.
  • Sound knowledge on end to end in Bank reconciliations.
  • Responsible for standardizing processes, documenting and building resilience within the team.
  • Responsible for onboarding of additional scope and aligning the process according to the TOM.
  • Developing standardised training documents to ensure onboarding plan is in place for new joiners.
  • Ensure that the team adheres to the Group's policies and procedures and ensure that accurate financial controls are in place.
  • Ensuring the team meets tight reporting timelines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
  • Responsible for driving the teams for crafting efficiency and onboarding new activities.
  • Support the external audit process for companies within scope including collaborating closely with the external auditors to address their questions and requests (CAS).
  • Support Group projects and ensure implementation of any new systems and processes.
  • The role will be encouraged to partner with Entity Accountants, Financial Controller, Group Reporting, and Statutory Reporting teams and be a key member of the Finance CoE.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Having professional accounting degree with proven experience of 5 years in General Accounting.
  • Background in finance shared services would be an added advantage.
  • Candidates with part qualification / degree with experience also considered.
  • Experience in handling a similar scope will be a proficient benefit.
  • Experience of using SAP, Oracle, Oracle Fusion and Blackline accounting systems will be an added advantage.
Strong background in:
  • Financial accounting in a large organisation.
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts.
  • Proven success in engaging senior stakeholders and consistently delivering tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle a large team.
  • Experience of handling cross geography relationships.
  • Have strong excel skills and be confident handling sophisticated spreadsheets to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Have a strong background in standardising processes and documentation.
  • Be a lead proponent of driving a collaborative culture and approach to working across finance.
  • Ability to scope and shape role while adapting to constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong process orientation, with ability to craft and operate robust reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues.
  • Improves opportunities, i.e., challenges ways of working, embraces Group practices, seeks, and provides information and clarification.
  • Effective oral and written communication that resonates with the target audience.
  • Utilises all available resources and toolsets to investigate and resolve problems and ensures the most appropriate solution is identified.

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work according to UK work hours.
