Our EY EDGE practice provides dedicated tax technical services to both U.S. and global clients. EDGE stands for Exceptional Delivery and Growth Engine. The State and Local (SALT) team is a growing practice; as a Tax Senior Manager you’ll be immersed in the evolving tax environment serving hedge fund, private equity, banking and real estate clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights
  • Identifying potential opportunities and risks and communicating these to clients
  • Learning and researching current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor
  • Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities
  • Researching clients’ business operations and building long‑lasting relationships to tailor advice to their specific needs
  • Supervising a motivated team of professionals, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to reach their full potential
Skills & Attributes for Success To qualify for the role, you must have
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
  • CPA, licensed Attorney or EA
  • Minimum of 8 years professional knowledge in a broad range of state and local Income/Franchise tax processes, concepts and tools
  • Experience managing budgets, people and projects
  • Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization
  • Technical writing and research experience in a tax context
  • Ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects
  • Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes
Ideally, you will also have
  • A proven record in a professional services environment or in‑house experience in a wealth and asset management company
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, One Source Tax Compliance Software, Corptax, and/or Premium Pro
  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues
  • Ability to adapt work style to collaborate with internal and client team members

What We Offer You
  • A comprehensive compensation and benefits package with a base salary range of $132,700 to $303,200 in all U.S. locations, and $159,300 to $344,600 for NYC, Washington, and California (excluding Sacramento). Total Rewards include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off.
  • A team‑led and leader‑enabled hybrid model: most external, client‑serving roles work in person 40‑60% of the time.
