PositionPortland’s5 Centers for the Arts is seeking a Ticket Seller Supervisor — a reliable, enthusiastic, and customer-focused individual to lead our ticketing team in delivering exceptional service for a wide variety of events in downtown Portland. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day box office operations, support and train staff, handle event settlements, and ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for our guests.

We currently have multiple part-time positions available, working event shifts 3-4 hours long, in the evenings and on weekends. Hours will fluctuate depending on event shifts available and the time of year.
Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff involved in selling tickets during events.
- Provide staff with cash and event information, including special promotions.
- Provide advice and technical assistance; trains; evaluates; resolves disputes and problems.
- Prepare accounting reports for ticket sales, disbursement, and applicable ticket office charges for event settlements.
- Prepare box office for event selling, activate ticket sales, releases promoter and box office holds.
- Maintain and reconcile ticket office cash inventory, including balancing the safe, reconciling event cash receipts and payables, and distributing cash advances to event promoters.
- Provide customer service; assist with ticket sales, provide will-call, monitor box office lines.
- Use creative problem solving skills to address seating, technical, and customer service issues as they arise.
- Understanding of operations, services and activities of a ticket box office, specifically reserved seat ticketing.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and cash-handling best practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in a courteous manner both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively in stressful and sometimes difficult situations.
- Proven ability to work with information management systems and adapt quickly to system changes.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of promoters, clients, and the public and remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Minimum qualifications
