Overview
We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join the McMenamins Music Department as our Production Manager. The manager is responsible for activities related to concerts at our high-capacity venues, including Grand Lodge Concerts in the Grove (outdoor capacity 3,000), Crystal Ballroom (indoor capacity 1,500) and front-of-house management at Edgefield Concerts on the Lawn (outdoor capacity 6,000).
This position involves partnering with managers, employees, promoters, and artists to ensure their needs are met for every event we produce. Candidates for this position must be able to develop good relationships both internally and externally and must be innovative, adept problem solvers, self-motivated and empathetic. Candidates must also nurture the upbeat, fun work culture while also maintaining a standard of professionalism and hard work.
Responsibilities- Serves as the Production Manager at the Crystal Ballroom, Grand Lodge Concerts and Edgefield Concerts.
- Serves as a front-of-house manager for Edgefield Concerts.
- Manages schedules for technical staff and concert staff as needed.
- Oversees any and all leased systems and production elements, including but not limited to audio, lighting and video.
- Reviews and processes all artist contracts as needed.
- Hires and manages concert personnel such as audio & lighting technicians, stage hands, stage managers, artist hospitality staff, SPL meter operators, etc.
- Works closely with the McMenamins Music Director and others to submit estimates and create budgets for events, attend meetings with clients and assist in producing event proposals.
- Must have expertise in artist/show/event settlements and works with the Music Director and music bookers on all show expenses, offers, settlements, etc.
- Works to report accurate financial information pertaining to payroll and show income & expenses.
- At least 5 years of experience in concert and event production management.
- Proven experience planning and coordinating events at high-capacity venues.
- Flexible schedule, including days, nights, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and efficiently manage multiple projects and events.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 products and services, including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint, as well as Google Docs, Google Drive and Adobe.
- Must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced working environment and able to consistently deliver on deadlines.
- Comfortable working in loud and often-crowded concert venues.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to travel between our venues and properties in Oregon and Washington on a frequent basis.
This position additionally requires frequent travel between our venues and properties in Oregon and Washington.
