The Senior Mechanical Engineer works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers, leading the mechanical design process and performing detailed analyses of mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities- Document designs with drawings, specifications, and bill of materials list
- Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging
- Input drawings and design packages into PLM system and release via ECO process
- Conduct design reviews and post-mortem analysis of designs
- Generate manufacturing assembly procedures and drawings
- Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with approved practices of the company
- Manage projects with minimal guidance
- May direct the work of others within the department
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Other duties as assigned
- BSME or equivalent work experience or combination of education and experience required
- 3-5 years of engineering or related work experience required
- Solidworks, AutoCAD, Inventor, ProE or other design package experience required (Solidworks preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite, Exceptional Excel skills mandatory
- Advanced knowledge of design process, ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, practices, and procedures
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers
- Ability to exercise discretion and good independent judgment in all duties and responsibilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, bend, and lift up to 25lbs.
