Client is seeking to hire an Energy Engineer (Engineer II to Senior Engineer) to join client’s quickly growing organization.
- The selected candidate will work with industrial and commercial customers participating in various energy efficiency programs to identify and evaluate energy-saving projects.
- Client engineers investigate energy efficiency projects to determine programmatic compliance and potential incentives for various customer types.
- They lead to understanding the energy implications of system upgrades and help customers understand the energy and economic impact of implementing efficiency upgrades.
- This requires communication with all stakeholders, data collection, logger installation, energy modeling and simulations, report writing, and presentation of findings.
- As consulting engineers, the ability to communicate technical information to a diverse audience is paramount.
- Throughout a typical work week, engineers might go on-site to scope a new energy project or install data loggers, present the results of a portfolio of projects to a facility's owner, write reports and develop energy models, or work with customer project engineers to create a new sequence of operations.

- Conduct energy audits and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
- Evaluate mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, pumps, motors, and fans.
- Interpret and analyze mechanical and electrical drawings, equipment nameplate data, and manufacturer specifications.
- Collect and analyze energy consumption data, identifying trends and potential savings.
- Assist in developing and implementing energy-efficient solutions for industrial and commercial facilities.
- Perform retro commissioning activities to optimize existing building systems and equipment performance.
- Prepare well-organized reports and analyses.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to internal teams and clients.
- Support project management by tracking budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in energy efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 3 to 7 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in energy efficiency or industrial systems.
- Experience in retro commissioning of building systems and equipment.
- Proficiency in HVAC, motors, lighting, and industrial equipment.
- Strong data analysis skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- CEM, and/or CMVP preferred.
Note: Salary Range: $80,000 to $125,000 based on experience and level (Engineer II or Senior Engineer placement)
- This full-time position is in Portland, OR.
- Approximately 20% of the work includes travel, primarily to industrial and commercial sites in Oregon and Washington.

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
