majorduties
- oversees, troubleshoots, coordinates, and actively manages various design contracting issues and on‑site construction activities. Shepherds contracting actions through the procurement and contracting process, starting with statements of work and ending with administering contract payments and close‑out. Reviews construction progress and uses web‑based construction management software (such as ebuilder, blue beam, etc.) or other similar tools to advance construction progress, payments, and coordinate with team.
Acts as a contracting officer's representative (cor). - plans, coordinates, implements, and delivers a variety of projects funded through the nga's master facilities plan, its ongoing renovation program, and other fund sources. Delivers project objectives and related services. Keeps projects on track, within established budgets and schedules. Uses cost estimates and analysis, as well as budgets and timelines to track and monitor delivery.
- project types include capital renewal; renovation; restoration; new construction; major repairs to building systems and alterations and modifications. Phases range from planning and programming, to design and construction. Acts as a technical resource for the engineering aspects of project planning, design, construction; and replacement of building systems equipment.
- engineering issues include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, interior environmental controls, fire protection, life safety, collections conservation and storage, security, maintaining operations during renovations, and regulatory code requirements.
- ensures that engineering requirements are well integrated with the gallery's architectural and aesthetic standards. Conducts design studies and resolves problems unique to art museum facilities and their engineered systems. Contributes innovative, functional, and sound engineering ideas based on technical judgment and knowledge. Prepares visual and written presentation materials to support design projects.
