Job Description

Actalent is seeking to hire a Senior Estimator to prepare comprehensive estimates for projects of all sizes, covering all phases of the estimating process. The role involves coordinating with vendors to gather pricing and product information and collaborating with subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely bid submissions. The ideal candidate will build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and general contractors to stay informed about upcoming project opportunities.

Responsibilities

* Perform detailed takeoffs and enter data into estimating systems.

* Draft clear and concise scope letters.

* Develop estimates that include appropriate margins and are structured for easy use in cost-to-complete tracking and project phasing.

* Maintain post-bid documentation, including competitor analysis, pricing benchmarks, square foot costs, and labor hour data for future reference.

* Participate in company meetings to provide updates on potential and active projects.

* Attend monthly estimator meetings to share insights and contribute ideas for improving company-wide coordination, efficiency, and profitability.

* Collaborate with the project controls team to refine and uphold company procedures in pursuit of operational excellence.

Essential Skills

* 5+ years of electrical estimating experience

* Proficiency in construction estimation and electrical bidding

* Experience with Accubid, Spectrum Software, and pricing and budget analysis

* Understanding of commercial construction

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Experience with calculations and Accubid entry for indirect costs, general conditions, subcontractor, and vendor quotations

* Design build experience including layout of devices meeting code requirements

* Ability to incorporate narrative into one line and other electrical drawing formats for estimate and delivery

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
