Field Engineering Spec II role at Fed Ex Freight

Analyze operational data/methods, identify performance improvement opportunities and/or implement technology systems that meet business objectives. Provide analysis, reporting tools and support for field operations to effectively control and/or justify operational costs.

• Analyze data obtained through multiple sources including data mining tools and other statistical analysis tools.
• Research, analyze and consolidate technical or engineering related information and present for management review.
• Develop, evaluate, document and improve operations methods for work area design, process flow and work methods.
• Monitor, analyze and recommend ways to improve productivity, service and cost performance in all areas of operations in conjunction with management.
• Collaborate with all levels of field leadership to identify trends in performance.
• Establish a communication link between operations and corporate departments; provide data and technical expertise relating to facility and equipment planning, layout and cost justification.
• Collaborate with all stakeholders to develop and implement corporate projects.
• Provide education and support for new technology deployments.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Transportation or related field or equivalent work experience plus three (3) years’ professional experience in applied engineering concepts and technology.
• Knowledge of equipment and properties resource planning.
• Experienced with Microsoft Office software and web‑based applications.
• Knowledge of mapping applications.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
