General PurposeConducts analysis through research, gathering and interpretation of data, with a focus on bulk electric system transmission reliability helping to ensure the stability and resilience of the electrical grid through real-time monitoring, analysis, and optimization of market operations. Presents analysis and recommendations to management and may implement selected alternative. Analyses include, but are not limited to, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, tracking system trends, financial analysis, congestion analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities- Monitor bulk electric system transmission operations and past energy market dynamics, including generation output, load forecasts, and transmission constraints.
- Analysis of market activities to determine any possible shortfalls/patterns.
- Assist with the identification of bulk electric system transmission congestion within the Pacifi Corp system, through analysis of real time market congestion information and offset charges.
- Promote a customer first culture and commit to delivering outstanding results for customers.
- Prepare key managerial performance reports associated with Real Time Market transmission reliability.
- Perform complex assignments lacking precedent and requiring creativity.
- Prepare regular reports, incident analyses, and post-event assessments to evaluate bulk electric system transmission performance, identify root causes of reliability issues, and recommend improvements to enhance grid resilience.
- Provide advice or functional direction and assume a lead role in the work group.
- Perform audits and inquiries; assess business issues and risks within the organization.
- Research and analyze complex data.
- Report on performance and develop alternatives and recommendations for improvement to management.
- Lead implementation of selected alternative to various analysis projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other applicable fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, forecasting, and modeling skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar systems.
- Project management skills including project leadership, task identification, scheduling, and cost/expenditure identification.
- Prepare regular reports, incident analyses, and post-event assessments to evaluate bulk electric system transmission performance, identify root causes of reliability issues, and recommend improvements to enhance grid resilience.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
- Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information.
- Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive and complex in nature.
- Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team; ability to present alternatives and recommendations.
- Knowledge of applicable company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of the electric utility industry and its regulatory and operating environments.
- Experience with bulk electric system transmission market operations.
- Experience working within a control center environment.
- Understanding of project life cycles.
- Understanding of FERC/NERC requirements.

Hiring Range: $77,200 - $106,150 annually
This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12% of salary.
