Associate Facilities Engineer

Mission

Waséyabek Federal Services, LLC (WFS) is a 100% Tribally owned, Native American SBA 8(a) small business of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP). WFS is part of a portfolio of companies managed by Waséyabek Development Company, LLC, a 100% Tribally owned economic development firm focused on income diversification on behalf of NHBP that reaches beyond gaming and is a well‑funded, experienced small business, with substantial liquid assets and experience in federal contracting.

WFS has borrowing capacity to meet the daily cash needs of new business development, new award support, and operational working capital. WFS is well‑versed in federal contract compliance and provides outstanding support services.

Perform a range of technical/engineering assignments under the supervision of a senior engineer on less complex assignments. Functions include engineering design packages for replacement of in‑kind equipment, designs to address maintenance needs, construction inspections, general space management plans, infrastructure alterations, infrastructure management, specialty engineering services, and some project management responsibilities.

• Performs a range of mechanical/civil design, development, analysis, or review tasks under supervision.
• Provides less complex AutoCAD facility engineering design drawings, statement of work bid packages, and project cost estimates.
• Able to assemble design specifications for projects.
• Understands the construction process and is able to apply this knowledge to general work responsibilities.
• Ensures compliance with established standards, guides, precedents, methods, and techniques within the discipline.
• Conducts site visits, experimental investigations and analyzes engineering problems, proposes solutions and alternatives, and provides recommendations.
• Generates space management plans under supervision.
• Coordinates contractor on‑site visits.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Must have 1 year of job‑related experience.
• Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
• Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
• Ability to pass a Fit for Duty employment test to verify the ability to meet the physical and functional demands of the position.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
• Ability to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to a nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by the contract.
• United States citizenship is required to work on a federal contract and will be electronically verified via E-Verify.

Most positions involve work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

May require travel.
