Topa Group, Inc. Is partnering up with a Fire Protection company in Portland, OR who is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer.

Company Overview

Join a leading fire protection company dedicated to delivering innovative, code-compliant fire suppression systems that protect lives and property. Our team is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to contribute technical expertise and design excellence to a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects throughout the Portland area.

Position Summary

The Fire Sprinkler Designer is responsible for creating accurate and detailed fire sprinkler system designs using SprinkCAD
. This role involves collaborating with project managers, field teams, and AHJs to ensure all systems meet NFPA standards, local codes, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design automatic fire sprinkler systems using Sprink

    CAD and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare detailed layout drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material lists.
  • Review architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans to coordinate system design.
  • Ensure designs comply with NFPA standards, building codes, and local fire department requirements.
  • Submit plans for approval to the appropriate authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in project coordination meetings to ensure design intent is maintained during installation.
  • Provide technical support and resolve design-related issues during construction.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler system design.
  • Proficiency with Sprink

    CAD and AutoCAD required.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and local building/fire codes.
  • NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
