Our team is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to contribute technical expertise and design excellence to a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects throughout the Portland area.
Position SummaryThe Fire Sprinkler Designer is responsible for creating accurate and detailed fire sprinkler system designs using SprinkCAD
. This role involves collaborating with project managers, field teams, and AHJs to ensure all systems meet NFPA standards, local codes, and client requirements.
- Design automatic fire sprinkler systems using Sprink
CAD and AutoCAD. - Prepare detailed layout drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material lists.
- Review architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans to coordinate system design.
- Ensure designs comply with NFPA standards, building codes, and local fire department requirements.
- Submit plans for approval to the appropriate authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in project coordination meetings to ensure design intent is maintained during installation.
- Provide technical support and resolve design-related issues during construction.
- 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler system design.
- Proficiency with Sprink
CAD and AutoCAD required. - Strong understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and local building/fire codes.
- NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
