Overview
Colliers Project Leaders is looking for a Preconstruction Manager – Design Management Support to join our Owner's Rep team remotely within the US for a key data center client. The role provides day‑to‑day coordination and operational support to keep the design process organized, aligned, and responsive throughout design and construction. Responsibilities include managing design documentation, schedules, package tracking, Procore standards, and compliance across architect and engineering partners.
Acting as a liaison among design teams, project management, and construction, the role supports coordination across EORs, design‑assist partners, and subcontractors to drive clarity, close submittals, and resolve RFIs. The role also assists with construction administration, QA/QC, and change management, identifying cost and scope impacts. The team member focuses on enabling efficient design delivery, alignment across buildings, and smooth integration of client or tenant design needs.
- Procore Management: fix/manage file structure; ensure compliance/maintenance by architect/engineer partners.
- Design Schedule Management: ensure weekly updates and schedule accuracy.
- Design Package Tracking, Narratives, Scopes (BB vs TFO).
- Design Alignment: lessons learned between buildings; VE items; sharing information between design partners and buildings.
- Design Management: design assist/EOR/sub engagement; develop meeting tracker with subs & GC; drive design clarity, submittals/shop drawings to closure; ensure cross‑EOR coordination/alignment; lead meetings.
- Construction Administration Management: weekly meetings with A&E partners; submittals/RFIs escalation and involvement; site visits with A&E partners and QA/QC team; mock‑ups/FOK/Etc.
- Understand Design Inside/Out, BOD: serve as middleman between project management/construction management and A&E team.
- Change Management/PCO Entitlements: train on contract and expectations; be a resource for cost management when RFI or bulletin has cost impact.
- QA/QC design issuance and narratives: ensure change categories listed at drawing sheet level.
- Assist with customer/tenant design integration as needed.
- Degree in Architecture, Design, Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
- 4+ years of design/preconstruction experience or project management experience with a design management role.
- Familiarity with MEP systems and how data centers operate.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for job‑related communications and verbal instructions.
