Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a long-term role with a plastics manufacturer located in Tigard, OR. The Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for the design of mechanical, electrical and industrial systems, equipment, and build documentation.
Pay: $34‑$37 /hr
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities- Define work order routings and operational requirements.
- Prepare manufacturing process procedures and instructions.
- Support Project Manager job quote and cost analysis.
- Manufacturing process development involving plastic or metal fabrication.
- Manufacturing training development and presentation.
- Perform R & D work as directed.
- Size and source components, develop BOM's, select materials utilizing best engineering practices.
- Perform calculations required to design systems that adhere to industry standards and required codes.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications.
- Modify customer supplied drawings as required using available CAD programs.
- File all electronic drawings and related documents appropriately on the company server.
- Support Project Management in providing timely customer quotations through accurate design and materials identification. Develop budgets, estimating labor, material, and build costs.
- Use of engineering and design software to create 2D and 3D models / schematics as needed for projects.
- Conduct pre- and post-sale scope analysis with project management to determine gates to successful project completion, i.e. long-lead purchase parts, material availability, BOM accuracy, manufacturing resources required, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare electrical systems documentation and drawings ensuring that installation and manufacturing processes conform to standards, codes, customer requirements, and specifications.
- Inspect completed builds, to ensure conformance to design, UL and safety standards etc.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
- A minimum 1-2 years relevant mechanical, electrical, or industrial design and troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of industry standards, state and federal regulations and UL code compliance.
- Project lead/management experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge including Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering CAD drawings, diagrams and schematics.
- Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) structure.
- Skilled communicator, both orally and written, in use of word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, database management software and manufacturing systems programs such as MRP or ERP.
