Your Opportunity

As a Construction Manager, you'll be the on-site representative for Stantec, working closely with our clients and their contractors to ensure successful project delivery. You'll collaborate with Stantec's project managers and design teams, as well as the client's operations and maintenance staff, to oversee construction at active water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipeline installations, roadway upgrades, and heavy civil works.

This role is critical to minimizing operational impacts and maintaining strong relationships with client teams. You'll ensure project goals are met, contracts are administered effectively, and coordination flows smoothly across all stakeholders.

What You'll Do

- Participate in constructability and bid reviews

- Coordinate with public outreach, real estate, permitting, controls, and other functions

- Manage contract correspondence

- Monitor project progress, budgets and schedules

- Review and recommend contractor payment applications

- Interpret and enforce contract documents, technical drawings, and specifications

- Oversee change management and enforce contract documents

- Ensure quality and safety goals are met

- Coordinate with inspection staff and external testing resources

- Attend construction meetings, site walks, and closeout activities

- Review and approve submittals, RFIs, design clarifications, and related documents

- Coordinate field surveys and monitor construction progress

- Liaise with governing agencies and recommend project completion acceptance

- Oversee equipment testing, training, startup, and warranty tasks

- Respond to delays, emergencies, and disruptions

- Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment.

- Promote health and safety practices across all activities

What You Bring

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and duties as assigned

- Excellent communication, organizational and client service skills

- Ability to build trust and foster positive relationships

- Effective problem-solving, facilitation, and negotiation abilities

- Familiarity with electronic document management systems (e-builder, EADOCs, Submittal Exchange)

- Experience with construction management and inspection at operating water and wastewater facilities

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for quality

- Proficiency in modern construction practices and technologies, with the capability to interpret technical drawings and contracts

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is a plus

- Ten or more years of relevant experience

** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
