Overview
MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for an Architectural Job Captain to join our Client Programs Market team in Portland, OR! You will be working in our Client Programs (CP) Market, where you will have the unique opportunity to work on global and national building programs with a focus on project and client leadership through all phases of design and delivery.
Responsibilities- Oversee the production and coordination of contract deliverables including field surveys, design drawings, construction documents, exhibits, and specifications.
- Ensure completeness of work in alignment with project contract and design intent, maintaining MG2 quality standards and coordinating consultant deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal design staff on integration of design generated deliverables into contract documents and specifications.
- Display a detailed understanding of how jurisdictional requirements, client standards, and programmatic guidelines impact and inform design.
- Coordinate project deliverables with external consultants and project partners.
- Generate comprehensive code research and feasibility studies, including coordination with AHJ representatives and scheduling of pre-submittal or design review meetings.
- Provide administrative support: create meeting agendas and minutes, update project trackers, complete permit applications or checklists, maintain RFI and submittal logs, and generate various project reports.
- Demonstrate a detailed understanding of firm-wide documentation standards and procedures, including proper use of MG2 templates and graphic standards.
- Provide guidance to other staff members on implementation of design standards as required.
- Assist with generating accurate and complete project specifications that align with scope, design intent, and contractual deliverables.
- Participate in QA/QC reviews of all deliverables, including coordination and review of consultant documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate external submittals to local permitting authorities and various AHJs, managing deliverables, administrative tasks, and site-specific submittal processes.
- Participate in construction administration activities: attend site visits, generate field reports, review submittals and RFIs, and produce formal responses for issuance.
- Produce accurate and timely work in accordance with project schedules and workplans, demonstrating understanding of design intent and project budget.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
- Proficiency with Revit, Auto-CAD, and MS Office.
- Experience utilizing collaboration software such as Bluebeam, Miro, and Teams.
- Experience coordinating architectural construction documents across various project types, scales, and complexities.
- Experience in all aspects of construction administration: RFI/submittal review, field reporting, and project close-out procedures.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and verbal instructions.
Compensation: $67,000-$124,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
