Transit Strategic Program Growth Director

ResponsibilitiesThe Transit Strategic Program Growth Director supports the growth of our transit engineering, rail, and transit systems. The role focuses on business development, project delivery, and professional development for employee‑owners. Key activities include:
- Partner with Market Sector Directors, transit engineering, rail, and transit systems teams to identify strategic focus areas and market drivers.
- Serve as a technical advisor or lead in support of strategic pursuits and projects.
- Assess the marketplace, develop recommendations, and define strategies for HDR’s best business approach.
- Support proposal and collateral development and collaborate with area and regional leadership.
- Monitor staff performance, backlog, and utilization and provide input to leadership.
- Lead or serve as a project manager ensuring high‑quality delivery on time and meeting client expectations.
- Participate in trade associations, national coordination meetings, and key initiatives during strategic planning.
- Highly skilled professional and nationally recognized industry leader in transit and rail planning, engineering, or construction.
- Demonstrated record of developing high‑performance teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline and Professional Engineering license (P.E.).
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
- Experience developing and enhancing transportation client relationships throughout the complete life cycle of project delivery.
- Well‑developed analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Committed to HDR values and quality improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field.
- 10 years experience in related field.
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
- Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
- Works cooperatively with other business class regional directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers.
- Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
- Active participant in employee‑owned culture.
