The Surveying & Geomatics team is seeking a Project Surveyor in Portland, OR
.

The primary focus of this position will be to bring excellent service to our Oregon Region clients by managing and delivering exceptional quality survey projects that are on time and on budget. The Project Surveyor's duties include supporting the development of scope, schedule, and budget, and to lead field and office staff for a wide variety of projects and clients. Since DEA is dedicated to utilizing cutting edge technology, the Project Surveyor will have many conventional and geospatial tools (GPS, terrestrial laser scanning, unmanned aerial systems, mobile mapping systems, and hydrographic mapping systems) available to utilize on projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop tactical action plans for project related tasks
  • Develop and maintain client relationships within the markets and regions that DEA currently operates
  • Perform research and calculations in a variety of jurisdictions
  • Quality control oversight
  • Coordinate with other DEA business units and clients
  • Direct, mentor, and coach field and office staff in the performance of their duties; to help them advance within the survey profession as their individual abilities allow
Required Qualifications
  • Oregon license required (or able to attain within 1 year);
    Washington or Idaho licenses are a plus.
  • Capable of self‑managing projects, communicating well with clients, and mentoring junior level staff
  • CAD and Land Surveying software knowledge (Examples: Civil 3D and/or Micro Station InRoads/Open Roads, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite.).
  • Able to work well in a team environment
