Responsibilities
  • Develop a partnership with Project Managers, where the PMs are responsible for scope, schedules, budgets, and client management, and the EM is responsible for technical execution of projects.
  • Work closely with the technical leadership team in development and execution of processes and procedures surrounding quality control, technical expertise, and project delivery.
  • Work closely with local and national Power Delivery leadership to develop internal trainings, mentorship plans, and technical development plans for junior staff.
  • Develop and implement a project execution plan for the technical aspect of projects.
  • Assign project tasks and provide technical guidance to project team members.
  • Support the technical aspect of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure development and implementation, progress assessment, risk assessment/mitigation, change management, and schedule management.
  • Coordinate and/or perform quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables per the HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements, processes, and procedures to deliver a world‑class quality product to the client; also perform quality checks and/or reviews of projects from other teams on an as‑needed basis.
  • Work independently and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more Project Engineers, EITs, or CADD/Designers.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.
  • Work with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop specific technical expertise and will attend training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to the discipline.
  • May also assist with developing technical papers and/or presentations that showcase HDR’s technical capabilities at industry conferences or other events.
  • Participate in project reviews as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum 2 years project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience required (Access experience would be a plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
