Temporary Part-Time Grant Writer (3-4 Month Contract)

Teaching Preschool Partners envisions a joyful and just education system that grows from the wisdom of children and partners with educators and children to ignite playful, inquiry-driven learning in classrooms.
Based in Oregon, TPP began in two Multnomah County districts and now serves 11 counties and over 30 school districts through direct contracts and regional partnerships

Position Overview
Teaching Preschool Partners seeks a temporary, part-time Grant Writer to support our institutional fundraising during a maternity leave period.
This role is primarily execution-focused. The Grant Writer will develop and submit grant proposals identified by leadership and support the preparation of required reports for active grants. The role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate our programmatic work into clear, compelling funder narratives.
If capacity allows, this role may also support strengthening internal grant systems and infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities
Grant Development & Submission
* Draft, edit, and finalize grant proposals and letters of inquiry for opportunities identified by leadership
* Tailor proposals to funder guidelines and priorities
* Compile supporting materials (budgets, attachments, work plans, letters of support)
* Ensure timely and accurate submission of proposals
Grant Reporting
* Draft interim and final grant reports
* Collaborate with leadership and program staff to gather outcomes data, stories, and financial information
* Track reporting deadlines and submission requirements
Secondary / Optional Responsibilities (as time allows)
* Help refine and organize internal grant tracking systems
* Support development or cleanup of CRM database infrastructure
* Create simple documentation or process guides for grant management continuity
* Organize digital grant files and templates for future use
Qualifications
* 3+ years of nonprofit grant writing experience
* Demonstrated success developing foundation and/or public grant proposals
* Strong writing, editing, and deadline management skills
* Experience preparing grant reports
* Ability to work independently within clear direction
* Alignment with TPP's mission and values
Preferred Experience
* Experience in education, early childhood, or public systems
* Familiarity with Oregon's philanthropic or early learning landscape
* Experience with Keela CRM systems
* Experience building or improving grant tracking processes
What Success Looks Like
During this 3-4 month engagement, the Grant Writer will:
* Submit high-quality proposals on schedule
* Complete required end-of-grant reporting accurately and on time
* Maintain clear documentation of submissions and reporting
* (If applicable) Leave behind improved internal tracking systems to support long-term fundraising infrastructure
Compensation
$50/hour based on experience. This is a temporary, part-time contract position.
