The English Department offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses to meet the needs of students with a diversity of interests and backgrounds. By studying literature, critical theory, rhetoric, composition, and creative writing, students in the Department of English acquire experience in intertextual and cross-disciplinary inquiry represented by many cultures and historical periods. They learn critical approaches to texts and issues that enable them to interpret and compare positions;

to read closely, critically, and with empathy; to conduct research; to weigh evidence; and to write with insight and expertise. The Creative Writing program is looking for qualified instructors to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Fiction Writing, including:

• Wr 212 – Intro to Fiction Writing
• Wr 312 – Intermediate Fiction Writing
• Wr 407 – Seminar:
  Fiction
• Wr 412 – Advanced Fiction Writing
• Wr 507 – MFA Seminar:
  Fiction

• MFA or PhD in Fiction.
• For 500-level courses:
  Distinguished record of publication, including at least one book of fiction; one year demonstrated excellence in teaching fiction writing.

• For 300 and 400-level courses:
  Two quarters of demonstrated successful teaching of college-level fiction writing and significant publications in the genre.
• For 500-level courses:
  Experience teaching at the graduate level.
