Position Summary

The DREAMer Resource Center Program Coordinator leads the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of a space where DREAMer students see themselves reflected, embraced, and valued. The Coordinator facilitates the development and coordination of co‑curricular programming that supports student success through community‑building and outreach activities, DREAMer‑centered programs, and leadership development.

The Coordinator provides connections to campus resources and services to support student retention, works with a student advisory board to build a community of learners, and coordinates programs and activities that are relevant to the DREAMer student population. The Coordinator collaborates with on‑campus departments, student groups, and DREAMer community organizations to advance the center’s mission.

The Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of Multicultural Student Services within the division of Student Affairs and implements broad outreach, partnering with local, state, and national groups and organizations to provide educational, legal, and financial resources that empower students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of DREAMer resource center programming.
  • Coordinate co‑curricular activities that promote community building, outreach, and leadership development for DREAMer students.
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus departments, student groups, and community organizations to expand access to resources and services.
  • Advise and support DREAMer students in enrollment, retention, and success through proactive outreach and resource coordination.
  • Work with the student advisory board to design and deliver programming that meets the needs of the DREAMer population.
  • Assist in grant writing, budget management, and data collection to support program sustainability and impact.
  • Represent the center at campus events, conferences, and community gatherings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in program development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Deep understanding of the experiences and needs of DACAmented and undocumented students.
  • Desirable: experience advising, counseling, or similar student services role in a college setting.
  • Experience organizing, planning, and delivering workshops and programs for diverse learners at the post‑secondary level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Public Administration, Social Work, or Ethnic Studies with two or more years of cultural programming in a college campus resource center.
  • Familiarity with Oregon organizations and resources that serve DACAmented and undocumented students and families.
  • Knowledge of PSU, Portland communities of color, and local organizations.
  • Familiarity with Tuition Equity and Oregon Student Aid Application processes.

Work Days / Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional nights and weekends.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary $58,596, with potential adjustments based on experience, budget, and HR approval.
