Program Focus

PCC is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in the Developmental Education program. This is not an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Applications may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full-term class assignments.

Instructor Qualifications

Instructors in Developmental Education must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in an appropriate educational field (e.g., special/developmental/adult education, reading, writing, math, or English)
  • Experience with underprepared students (DE Math or English)

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate educational field (e.g., special/developmental/adult education, reading, writing, or English) plus three years of equivalent full-time teaching experience in reading, writing, or English within grade 9 through adult (DE English)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Math Education, or a related field with a math emphasis plus three years of equivalent full-time teaching experience in mathematics within grade 6 through adult (DE Math)
