TBD per camp session (typically 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., or 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Monday–Friday)

Position Summary
FI is seeking energetic, responsible, and creative Summer Camp Assistants to join our Extended Learning team. Summer Camp Assistants support instructors in the supervision and implementation of lessons, ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging environment for all campers. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and collaboration are essential to succeed in this role. This is a temporary, on-campus position. Summer Camp Assistants may also have opportunities to support other programs, such as ACE Week and Aftercare.
ResponsibilitiesStudent Supervision & Safety
- Provide appropriate supervision of campers at all times, on- and off-campus.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of all students in your care.
- Report immediately any safety, behavioral, or performance concerns to instructors or supervisors.
- Assist instructors in implementing instructional plans and lesson activities.
- Help maintain accurate attendance and other student records.
- Support campers in achieving personal growth and positive social interactions.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of fun, engaging summer activities.
- Assist with maintaining safe, clean, and organized camp spaces.
- Establish and sustain positive, professional relationships with students, instructors, and colleagues.
- Communicate effectively with instructors, supervisors, and parents when appropriate.
- Uphold confidentiality regarding student information.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in Oregon’s Criminal Background Registry (C ).
- Experience working with children in a school or camp setting.
- Mobility sufficient to ensure student safety in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Ability to communicate in French.
- Experience or interest in international education and working in a multilingual environment.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent.
- This position includes physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and occasional lifting of materials or campers.
- Supervision occurs predominantly outdoors;
Summer Camp Assistants may work in varying weather conditions.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and solution-oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work independently when needed.

- Willingness to stay current with technology and school-sponsored professional development.
