The School of Architecture at PSU has a rich, materially based curriculum, which challenges students to address the poetics of material, urban issues and cultural meaning, community engagement and social needs through architecture and design. With an established reputation for promoting a materially diverse, urban-oriented, socially engaged architectural education, including a pre-professional undergraduate degree in Architecture, a professional accredited Master of Architecture, the Center for Public Interest Design, and strong ties to local design practice, we offer a rigorous educational experience in the ideal setting of downtown Portland.

Minimum Qualifications
At minimum, candidates must have a master's degree in architecture and professional experience. Candidates should demonstrate tangible instructional experience in teaching situations, including architectural design studio, with the equivalent of at least 3 years of full-time teaching experience.
Preferred QualificationsPreference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated expertise and research activities in building performance systems and other sustainability-focused technologies and their applications to real-world problems.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits StatementSalary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be $76,239 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
