Minds Matter Portland is seeking dedicated, compassionate volunteers to tutor high‑achieving high‑school students from low‑income families at our Hillsboro Saturday site. Volunteers support students in math, science, and writing, helping them build the academic confidence and skills needed for college success.
Tutors work one‑on‑one or in small groups during structured Saturday sessions and may also support additional individualized tutoring upon student request. Beyond tutoring, volunteers can step into leadership and support roles that help power our weekly sessions and long‑term program success.
We’re looking for volunteers who are:- Reliable and encouraging
- Passionate about educational equity
- Strong communicators
- Comfortable working with high school students
(College upperclassmen are welcome to apply for tutoring roles.)
