Position Summary

PSU’s Regional Research Institute for Human Services (RRI), where OSECE is housed, is part of the School of Social Work. The RRI conducts innovative research and program evaluation that address critical community issues. We work at the intersection of research, practice, training, and policy with local, state, regional, national, and international agencies and partners. The quality of our community-based participatory action work has gained us a national reputation.

The IPS Statewide Trainer provides Technical Assistance (TA) to Individual Placement & Support (IPS) teams in selected sites across the state. Technical Assistance is focused on core principles of the IPS model, and coordinates training needed for the implementation of evidence-based Individual Placement and Support. This role conducts fidelity reviews of IPS programs to support fidelity, and meet benchmarks as part of the OHA accreditation process.

Statewide Trainers provide both virtual, and on‑site trainings, and at annual events. OSECE statewide trainers are available to provide technical assistance for all Supported Employment IPS programs in Oregon.

Duties include:

IPS Technical Assistance and Fidelity Reviews
  • Coordinate the implementation of evidence-based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) in selected sites across the state.
  • Maintain contact with assigned IPS Teams; track staffing and trainings.
  • Meet individually with program managers and directors as needed to address site specific implementation aspects.
  • Conduct IPS fidelity reviews and write reports detailing the results of reviews.
  • Assist sites newly implementing the IPS model in developing implementation and staffing plans and becoming provisional IPS providers.
  • Create technical assistance (TA) plans in partnership with IPS programs to help them achieve fidelity benchmarks and meet Oregon Administrative Rule requirements for IPS program operations. Monitor technical assistance plan achievements and coordinate training needs for IPS programs as specified in the technical assistance plan.
Trainings
  • Assist with the production of bi‑annual IPS conferences, in‑person or remote, regional or statewide— training events with multiple speakers, slideshows, and group IPS activities.
  • Present principles of IPS Supported Employment and answer questions about IPS for consumers, families, clinical staff, and community partners in venues that include conferences, conventions, trainings, and kickoff events.
  • Conduct IPS trainings on‑site and via Zoom.
  • Conduct TA calls that cover specific topics related to IPS model implementation and other associated evidence‑based practices.
  • Be available to teams via phone, email and video, to provide consultation and coaching as teams are implementing TA they have been trained on.
  • Coordinate with communications staff to disseminate information to all IPS team members and stakeholders on upcoming trainings and resources, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field +4 years of experience. (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Ability to telecommute and work independently in the field
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Must be comfortable with public speaking and presenting information to large and small groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Prior experience working on an IPS team is required
