COMMUNITY SCHOOLS ACTIVITY LEADER - TEMPORARY
MFS CASH Oregon is seeking a temporary Community Schools Activity Leader to lead after school classes at H.B. Lee Middle School. This role is part‑time, temporary, and supports the school’s after school program from 3:00 pm to 5:45 pm, Monday to Thursday, for the 1/12/26‑3/12/26 term.
Position DescriptionMFS helps people move beyond poverty, inequity and social isolation by delivering proven programs that focus on prevention and community building. As an Activity Leader, you will design, plan and teach after school activities that enrich students’ lives and inspire learning in arts & crafts, sports, academic enrichment and STEM.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Develop and facilitate engaging, age‑appropriate after school lessons linked to academics, recreation and the arts.
- Supervise 12–16 students, maintaining class decorum during duties such as meal time, recess, bathroom breaks and transitions.
- Record daily attendance and report student progress to the SUN Site Manager and school staff.
- Maintain classroom and school rules to ensure safety, and support confidentiality of student information.
- Collaborate with the SUN Site Manager, Principal, school staff and families to promote a positive learning environment.
- Experience teaching children and creating lesson plans.
- Strong behavior‑management skills and ability to work with elementary‑age students.
- Independent, self‑motivated, creative and resourceful.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Willingness to ask questions for clarification and to learn job requirements.
- Enthusiastic about working in an inclusive environment with children of all backgrounds and abilities.
- Minimum 18 years old and legally able to work in the United States.
- Basic English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking). Spanish speaking skills are a plus.
