Transfer Student Success Coach – Access, Connect, Complete, Engage (ACCE) Program
Portland State University, College of Urban and Public Affairs is seeking a Transfer Student Success Coach to coach and support community college students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the ACCE program. The position will provide holistic support in academic skills, time management, study habits, general advising, and balancing demands on students’ time.

- Work in‑person 5 days a week at Mount Hood Community College, Clackamas Community College, Portland Community College, or PSU as needed.
- Travel between community colleges and PSU as necessary.
- Use technology and analytics to provide services and navigate site‑specific systems.
- Communicate effectively in one‑on‑one interactions, small groups, public presentations, and written communications.
- Discuss highly sensitive personal and financial matters with diverse student populations.
- Provide culturally attuned programming that supports equitable outcomes.
- Create, present, and facilitate student‑centered workshops for ACCE students and prospective PSU transfer students.
- Ensure accurate data entry and reporting using tools such as Navigate and Google Forms to track student progress and inform stakeholders.
- Support targeted messaging, credit load, financial incentives, and other duties that promote continued enrollment and a sense of belonging.
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of advising/mentoring experience.
- Ability to work in‑person 5 days a week at the specified community colleges or PSU.
- Ability to travel between community colleges and PSU as needed.
- Proficient use of technology and analytics for student services.
- Effective communication skills in individual, group, public speaking, and written contexts.
- Comfort discussing sensitive personal and financial matters with diverse students and families.
- Experience providing culturally attuned programming that supports equitable outcomes.
- Experience with historically underrepresented students and/or contemporary student populations.
- Knowledge of community college and university institutions.
- Bi‑lingual.
- Create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully across diverse beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultures.
- Seek opportunities to learn in diverse, multicultural, inclusive settings and adapt for continual improvement.

Starting FTE salary: $58,596 – $61,956 per annum; may be negotiated above this range. Benefits include 95% premium‑paid healthcare, generous retirement and vacation packages, and reduced tuition rates for employees, spouses, or dependents at Oregon University System schools.
PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge, and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
