Global Kids -After School Program Group Leader

Group Leaders ($20/hour) + Assistant Teachers ($19/hour)

Position may be part‑time or full‑time. Part‑time: 17 hours per week;
Full‑time: 32.5 hours per week.

The Global Kids Extended‑day Program at The International School located in downtown Portland, Oregon, is hiring a Group Leader to work with our early childhood (3–4 year olds) and K‑5th grade students daily after school.

• Group Leader
  : $20/hour
• Assistant Teacher
  : $19/hour

• Holiday pay for shifts scheduled on federal holidays

• Group Leader Full‑time
  :
  Regular school year: 11:00 AM‑6:00 PM (Mon‑Fri);
  Alternative Days: 7:30 AM‑4:00 PM on certain no‑school days (dates TBD);
  Summer Camp: 9:30 AM‑6:00 PM (Mon‑Fri)
• Part‑time
  : 3:00‑5:45 PM Mon, Thu, Fri on school days; 2:00‑5:45 PM Tues, Wed on school days; ½ hour prep per week; 7:30 AM‑4:00 PM on no‑school days (if enrollment sufficient)
• More hours can be offered if needed

South Waterfront area of downtown Portland—easily accessible by freeways, public transit, and bicycle. Walking distance from PSU and OHSU. Parking passes are provided.

• Lead or assist a group of up to 20 students in the Global Kids Extended‑day Program
• Plan and implement fun and engaging enrichment activities, including pick up from school, outdoor play, snack, and dismissal
• Perform health screening, sanitizing, and take attendance
• Manage classroom behavior using positive strategies
• Guarantee that children are supervised 100 % of the time during the program
• Communicate effectively and positively with students, families, supervisors, school staff, and other community members

The Global Kids Program is a state‑licensed child‑care center. The Global Kids Manager will guide staff in the steps necessary to comply with the Oregon Office of Childcare license.

• At least one year of experience working with children in the 3–4 or K‑5 age range in a school or similar setting such as a summer camp
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Two‑year degree
