An NSF‑funded Research and Training Group (RTG) in Computation‑And Data‑Enabled Science (CADES) at PSU will produce researchers with deep knowledge in computational mathematics and statistics, along with a broad understanding of data‑driven science. The CADES program focuses on three areas:
- Numerical techniques for partial differential operators
- Data‑intensive statistical learning
- Optimization methods for data science
Primary Qualification
- Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or a closely aligned field in computational science, obtained prior to the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some teaching experience (preferred but not required).
- Demonstrable computational experience combined with rigorous theoretical training.
The starting annual salary will depend on related experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, market parity, and internal equity. Additional benefits include up to $6,000 per year for professional travel.
