An NSF‑funded Research and Training Group (RTG) in Computation‑And Data‑Enabled Science (CADES) at PSU will produce researchers with deep knowledge in computational mathematics and statistics, along with a broad understanding of data‑driven science. The CADES program focuses on three areas:

  • Numerical techniques for partial differential operators
  • Data‑intensive statistical learning
  • Optimization methods for data science
All projects involve high performance computing and open‑source scientific software products. Qualifications

Primary Qualification

  • Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or a closely aligned field in computational science, obtained prior to the start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some teaching experience (preferred but not required).
  • Demonstrable computational experience combined with rigorous theoretical training.
Compensation & Benefits

The starting annual salary will depend on related experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, market parity, and internal equity. PSU offers an excellent benefits package that includes 95% premium‑paid healthcare, an optional retirement plan, generous vacation time, and tuition reduction for employees, spouses, or dependents at any Oregon University System school.

Additional benefits include up to $6,000 per year for professional travel.
