Position Summary

Portland State University’s Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences invites local Clinical Adjunct Instructors to join our instructional team. In this part‑time role, you will contribute to graduate‑level supervision of clinical practica, helping to train future speech‑language pathologists in real‑world clinical skills. You will provide hands‑on supervision in on‑campus and community clinics and may teach or assist with graduate seminars in your area of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences/Communication Disorders or Audiology, or related fields.
  • Certification through the American Speech‑Language Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • At least three years of clinical experience.
  • Maintain an uninterrupted license for speech‑language pathology with the Oregon Board of Examiners; compliance with ORS 681.250(2).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
  • PhD in SPHR/CSD, AudD, or terminal degree in a closely related field preferred.

Compensation

Adjunct faculty are hired on a per‑quarter basis and paid per credit hour ($1,360.00 per credit) under the PSUFA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
