Position Summary
The Department of World Languages and Literatures prepares students for the global community, offering instruction in numerous languages including Vietnamese. The Vietnamese program offers 3 sections of first‑/second‑year courses, serving approximately 20 students per quarter. This part‑time adjunct instructor will teach first‑/second‑year Vietnamese courses; the position is renewable.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach first‑ and second‑year Vietnamese courses (102/202 in winter and 103/203 in spring).
- Maintain a minimum of 2 hours of office hours per week.
- Schedule office hours during the term(s) they teach and be available by appointment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Two years of teaching Vietnamese at the college level.
- Native or near‑native fluency in Vietnamese and English.

Compensation
Adjunct faculty members are paid per credit hour in accordance with the AFT Collective Bargaining Agreement.
