Clinical Responsibilities- Provide consultation services for patients with neurologic conditions who are hospitalized or referred for outpatient consultation, including an active role on the Stroke team for acute stroke therapies.
- Respond promptly in writing to referral sources with clinical findings and recommended care plans.
- Offer telephone and telemedicine consultative services for patients throughout the region.
- Provide continuous coverage for Neurology services with other specialists on Legacy Hospitals’ Medical Staffs.
- Participate in EEG evaluations with other neurologists on the medical staff.
- Develop consultative and follow‑up outpatient clinics as requested.
- Collaborate with colleagues and staff to develop policies and procedures for neurological care across Legacy Health.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement for neurologic care of inpatient hospital patients.
- Advise the Legacy Supply and Equipment Council on new neurological technology.
- Advise the Legacy Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee on neurologic medications, including formulary recommendations, restrictions, utilization, and monitoring of adverse reactions.
- Participate regularly in teaching activities of the Inpatient Medicine Department and Stroke Program, including resident, student, and staff education and outreach CE programs.
- Assist in developing a consultative stroke clinic or other clinical programs as requested.
- Participate in marketing/outreach for neurology and telemedicine programs as requested.
- Serve as Attending Physician on patients assigned to the neurology service and as teaching attending on the house staff service, as requested by the Medical Director, Inpatient Medicine.
- Provide inpatient consultative neurology service as requested by attending physicians.
- Assist private practice physicians in using hospital services efficiently and cost‑effectively with their hospitalized patients.
- Participate in education, training, and evaluation of house staff, medical students, and hospital personnel with direct patient care responsibilities on inpatient departments.
- Serve on department, hospital, and Legacy Health committees as requested.
- Perform clinical responsibilities at assigned Legacy hospitals.
- Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
- Satisfactory completion of an accredited residency in Neurology.
- Clinical experience in vascular neurology required.
- Active member in good standing of Hospital Medical Staff.
- Experience with or interest in telemedicine desirable.
- Board Certified in Neurology.
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the applicable state.
- BLS certification.
