Overview

The Guest Services Representative is a key public-facing member of OMSI’s Guest Services team, responsible for delivering exceptional service across the museum campus. In addition to ticketing, ushering, answering questions, way finding, and concierge desk duties, this role plays a vital part in supporting museum revenue goals and enhancing guest engagement. The position requires a proactive, solutions-focused individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is invested in the success of both daily operations and strategic guest experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Work onsite at the museum and be prepared to work weekends, holidays, special events, and/or evenings as scheduled.
  • Perform ticketing, ushering, answering questions, way finding, and concierge desk duties.
  • Support museum revenue goals and enhance guest engagement through service excellence.
  • Contribute to daily operations and guest experiences in a proactive, solutions-focused manner.
Employment Details

The role is temporary, scheduled to work 20 – 29 hours per week between March 9, 2026 through October 23, 2026.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to model and support teamwork and collaboration with colleagues with varied skills and responsibilities.
  • Ability to learn current equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice theories and practical applications, including critical theories of systemic oppression, unconscious bias, and personal identity and intersectionality matters.
  • Consistent ability to display a welcoming and friendly demeanor toward guests and coworkers.
  • Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to explain and promote products, memberships, and events.
  • Understanding of or ability to learn point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic cash handling.
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced, guest-centered environment.
  • 1 year of customer service experience in a fast-paced, public-facing retail, hospitality, attraction, or service environment.
