Concierge and Welcome Volunteer (age 21+) Referral

At Hopewell House, every interaction matters. As a Concierge and Welcome Volunteer, you’ll be the first warm smile and reassuring presence that families, friends, and visitors encounter when they walk through our doors. Guided by thoughtful listening and gracious kindness, you’ll help create a welcoming environment where residents and their loved ones feel supported.

This role is more than greeting guests—
it’s about embodying compassion, offering clarity, and ensuring that everyone who enters Hopewell House experiences comfort and dignity
. By joining us, you’ll play a vital part in fostering a trauma‑informed, compassionate space that reflects the values at the heart of our mission.

• Answer incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately
• Warmly greet staff, guests, and families upon arrival
• Provide information and answer questions with patience and clarity
• Maintain visitor and activity logs to ensure smooth operations
• Assist with Hopewell House tours
• Offer a calm, reassuring presence in the lobby and common areas
• Collaborate with staff to ensure residents and guests feel welcomed and cared for
• Help manage deliveries, mail, or supplies as needed
• Uphold the values of Hopewell House by creating a welcoming, compassionate environment

• Monday through Sunday
• Shifts are 4 hours: 8:00 AM‑12:00 PM / 12:00 PM‑4:00 PM / 4:00 PM‑7:00 PM

Volunteers in this role gain valuable skills in compassionate communication, trauma‑informed care, and active listening. They learn how to respond to subtle emotional and practical needs, offering clarity and reassurance to families and visitors during sensitive times. Volunteers also develop organizational and hospitality skills by managing calls, greeting guests, and supporting daily operations. Most importantly, they gain deep insight into end‑of‑life care and the profound impact of creating a welcoming, dignified environment for residents and their loved ones.

Concierge and Welcome Volunteers directly advance this mission by being the first warm, reassuring presence for families, friends, and visitors. Through thoughtful listening, clear communication, and gracious kindness, they help create a welcoming, trauma‑informed environment that eases stress and fosters comfort. By greeting guests, answering questions, and supporting staff, CWVs ensure that everyone who enters Hopewell House feels cared for, respected, and embraced in our circle of compassion.

Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity.
