Civil Engineering, Operations Manager
Brief Description
Your primary role is to support the Project Manager and Superintendent on commercial construction projects by being responsible for document control, subcontractor coordination, cost tracking, and ensuring project compliance with plans and specifications. This role plays a key part in maintaining project organization, communication, and efficiency from preconstruction through closeout.
Essential Duties Include Project Coordination & Administration- Perform the site administration/documentation including subcontractor submittals, requests for information (RFIs), OAC meeting minutes, permit tracking, ASIs, CCDs, etc.
- Track project documentation in required logs (RFIs, Submittals, etc.)
- Manage deferred submittal process.
- Monitor project sustainability goals, including maintaining the proper logs/documentation and reviewing products for sustainability compliance with project requirements.
- Document and distribute minutes for jobsite related meetings (OAC, Foreman, Preconstruction, Subcontractor Readiness Reviews, etc.)
- Attend weekly safety meetings and assist crew with spotting/resolving jobsite hazards.
- Assist superintendent/foreman with jobsite safety orientations.
- Maintain/update the project drawing set electronically and physically.
- Understand the project specifications and ensure they are being followed on the project.
- Assist with quality control documentation and testing, including documenting work on the building envelope, window testing, etc.
- Manage the project closeout process, in conjunction with the project assistant, including the punchlist, owner training materials, procuring, and tracking attic stock materials and reviewing as-builts, O&Ms, and warranty requirements.
- Solicit and review subcontractor bids as needed.
- Track material deliveries and lead times.
- Participate in R&H business development efforts, including attending industry networking events.
- Participate in PE Walks.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction that are in the best interest of the project.
- Drive to/from jobsites, client/architect meetings, business development events, etc.
- Great communication skills - written and oral.

- Ability to learn new software tools / processes
- Takes personal responsibility for issues that arise.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- College degree preferred in construction/architecture/engineering or equivalent experience
- 0-2 years of construction project engineering experience
- Construction field experience favorable
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project) and Bluebeam experience
- OSHA 10-Hour, Revit/CAD experience are favorable

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Additionally, there is frequent sitting/standing at a desk.
Work EnvironmentThis role, depending on the project, may be located in the R&H Office or at a project location in the jobsite trailer. Projects are generally located within a 50-mile radius of the R&H Office; however, there may be travel required outside of that area. Whether stationed in the office or the jobsite the employee will be required to visit/be on jobsites with uneven ground and be regularly exposed to construction site hazards.
The construction sites are usually moderate to very loud.
