About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent with a strong background in deep underground wet utilities
, including large-diameter pipe installation, deep trenching, and complex shoring systems
. This role is ideal for a Superintendent with proven leadership in heavy civil construction who can manage field operations, subcontractors, crews, and project schedules while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage wet utility construction projects involving deep excavation and large-diameter pipelines.
  • Coordinate daily field operations, subcontractors, and project crews.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, excavation standards, and shoring requirements.
  • Review and interpret civil construction plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
  • Monitor progress, cost controls, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, inspectors, and clients.
  • Troubleshoot onsite challenges and implement effective solutions.
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction or underground utility work.
  • Proven experience with:
    • Deep trenching (20+ feet preferred)
    • Shoring systems (hydraulic, slide rail, beam & plate, etc.)
    • Installation of large-diameter pipe (storm, sanitary, water)
    • Dewatering systems and groundwater management
  • Strong understanding of OSHA standards related to excavation and confined spaces.
  • Experience managing crews, subcontractors, and large-scale field operations.
Qualifications
  • Valid Oregon Contractor License (or the ability to obtain one).
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of civil and utility construction methods and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project plans.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
