Associate Procurement Specialist (P1) — Transactional Procurement
Duration: 12-month contract

Pay Range: $29.52 – $32.74 per hour
The Associate Procurement Specialist is an entry-level professional role reporting to the Procurement Manager and responsible for transactional procurement activities and administrative support. This position supports efficient procurement operations by managing purchase requisitions, assisting with low-risk sourcing events, and maintaining accurate processing of routine procurement tasks. The role enables Category Buyers and Category Managers to focus on higher-value tactical and strategic initiatives by ensuring timely execution of day-to-day procurement functions.
Responsibilities include supporting the source-to-pay cycle, maintaining compliance with established procurement standards and regulatory requirements, and contributing to process consistency and operational reliability. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week onsite and two days per week remote.
- Process purchase requisitions, including purchase orders (POs) and change orders (COs), in compliance with established procurement policies and procedures.
- Validate purchase requests and ensure completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation.
- Conduct basic purchasing support activities to maintain workflow continuity.
- Develop RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for assigned low-risk and simple sourcing events.
- Determine appropriate procurement methods for routine purchases and negotiate pricing within established guidelines.
- Apply foundational sourcing principles to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in drafting and executing contracts using established procurement frameworks and templates.
- Apply contract extensions as required and escalate issues in accordance with defined procedures.
- Prepare formal supplier notices and maintain supplier performance documentation and reports.
- Manage procurement-related tickets, including triaging and resolving requests through systems such as Service Now.
- Ensure adherence to procurement standards, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Category Buyers and Category Managers to ensure smooth handoffs and timely execution of procurement activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, category management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with ERP and procurement systems and standard procurement processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of procurement methods, standards, and procedures.
- Understanding of market conditions relevant to evaluating supplier bids and performance.
- Basic knowledge of sourcing strategy formulation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/procurement tools.
- Basic analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy standards, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to respond to change, accept feedback, and apply learnings to improve performance.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 1–2 years of relevant procurement or supply chain experience.
- Working knowledge of procurement processes and ERP/procurement systems.
- Experience supporting low-risk sourcing events (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs).
- Exposure to basic contract drafting and supplier performance reporting.
- Experience using Service Now or similar ticketing/workflow systems.
