Job Summary

The Product Specialist / Non-Residential Program Manager oversees key programs within the client’s business demand response (DR) portfolio, specifically the Commercial Smart Thermostat and Multi-family Water Heater programs. These programs drive the client’s flexible load strategy in support of Oregon’s clean energy future. This role ensures program success through strategic development, implementation oversight, vendor performance management, and continuous improvement aligned with corporate goals, regulatory expectations, and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert in target markets to position a comprehensive set of programs.
  • Maintain extensive market knowledge through publications, trade organizations, and industry events.
  • Develop market‑driven solutions for business customers.
  • Lead projects/work streams to define innovative, cost‑effective strategies driving program success.
  • Ensure vision and strategy align with corporate goals and industry trends.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to track program performance and evaluate improvements.
  • Use data‑driven insights to enhance customer experience, tariff structures, and grid performance.
  • Lead initiatives to advance program performance through emerging technologies.
  • Manage program progression through growth, maturity, and discontinuation stages.
  • Guide program enhancements and expansion of customer participation.
  • Lead coordination with stakeholder groups for strategy execution and promotional planning.
  • Partner with regulatory, fiduciary, and grid planning teams for reporting and compliance.
  • Develop shared goals and success metrics with operational partners.
  • Create and implement processes ensuring high‑quality customer experiences.
  • Improve program design to boost customer satisfaction and participation.
  • Support outreach, training, and direct customer communication as needed.
  • Represent the company on committees and within industry organizations.
  • Maintain relationships to promote the company’s leadership in program innovation.
  • Oversee vendor performance regarding scope, schedule, and budget.
Required Experience
  • Background in non‑residential program management, demand response, DSM, or energy program leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing program strategies.
  • Experience managing complex, cross‑functional projects.
  • Strong analytical and market analysis capabilities.
Nice‑to‑Have Experience
  • Expertise in DR program design or flexible grid solutions.
  • Experience navigating regulatory processes and reporting requirements.
  • Prior work with customer experience optimization in utility or energy sectors.
