Aspen Standard Wealth is scaling rapidly through acquisition. We are hiring a Portfolio Company Chief Executive Officer to take full ownership one of our partner firms, a Founder-led wealth management business, and lead it through its next phase of growth.
This role is not a functional leadership position. The Portfolio Company Chief Executive Officer will assume full accountability for the business—owning the P&L, people, growth, and execution—while partnering with Aspen to deploy a proven value creation and organic growth playbook. The mandate is clear: double the business organically within three years, professionalize operations, and enable the founder to step away from day-to-day leadership.
This role is based in the Portland Metro area.
ResponsibilitiesFull Business Ownership
- Step decisively into the top leadership seat, transitioning the business from founder-led to professionally run.
- Assume full responsibility for the performance of the business, including revenue growth, profitability, operating discipline, and talent.
Growth Execution
- Deliver 2x organic growth within three years, using a combination of pricing, sales execution, marketing, new client acquisition, and operational leverage.
- Build, manage, and improve a repeatable sales and growth engine with clear accountability.
Strategic & Operating Rigor
- Develop and own a one-page strategic plan and operating budget aligned with Aspen’s underwriting assumptions and value creation model.
- Translate strategy into execution through clear priorities, KPIs, and operating cadence.
Founder Transition & Credibility
- Earn the trust of the founder and team through decisive leadership and early execution (first 90 days), enabling the Founder to fully step back from day-to-day operations
- 8+ years of direct people leadership in an operating business, including hiring, performance management, and team development.
- Ownership of a P&L or a material portion of a P&L, with direct accountability for revenue, costs, and outcomes.
- Personally executed revenue or growth initiatives (e.g., built or scaled a sales team, launched a new product or service, expanded into new markets).
- Experience operating in lean, low-infrastructure environments without centralized corporate support.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
MBA strongly preferred unless candidate has demonstrated equivalent operating ownership. - Experience in wealth management, financial services, or adjacent regulated services strongly preferred.
