Position OverviewThe Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations and workflow in the front office area in accordance with NARA’s health and wellness objectives for patients and families. To ensure that the provision of dental health services takes place in a professional, non‑biased environment and is accomplished efficiently and respectfully.
What You Will Do- Train receptionists and other back‑office staff on front office duties.
- Maintain the Dental Front Desk manual, which includes front desk workflows on common questions, scheduling, referrals, insurance verifications, etc.
- Triage emergency phone calls in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Check patient voicemails and return calls promptly.
- Oversee and coordinate walk‑in patient appointments, communicate any scheduling or triage issues to dental providers, and ensure smooth patient flow in the waiting area.
- Handle patient complaints and refer them to the appropriate level of management if necessary.
- Schedule maintenance of front office equipment.
- Monitor administrative office supplies and request as necessary.
- Maintain petty cash if necessary and provide monthly reports to Fiscal on balance.
- Complete required prior authorizations as required by OHP plans and private insurances.
- Provide support to dental clinic for reporting on Care‑Oregon grant, IHS grant and other grants that NARA dental may receive.
- Check residential charts weekly to make sure all documents are included.
