Position: Vehicle Emissions Inspector (Public Service Representative 3)

Overview

Description Of Duties/Essential Functions Under direction of the Chief Administrative Law Judge administers and supervises the Evans Case Management System, docketing, filing and processing of correspondence for the Administrative Law Section of the Chicago Office of the Human Rights Commission. Assures adherence to the Commission's time frames for preparation and mailing of legal documents of the Administrative Law Section. Serves as section administrator for the Evans Case Management System.

Prepares monthly statistical and case status reports, and special reports as needed. Develops and recommends more efficient ways of handling Administrative Law Section's orders, motions and decisions. Assist the public, via walk-in or telephone, with filing of complaints.

Minimum Requirements
  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years study at a secretarial/business college and one year of office experience; or completion of high school and three years Office Assistant experience; or three years independent business experience.
  • Requires working knowledge of the Agency's program policies and operations.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of office procedures and programs.
  • Requires ability to direct and supervise the work of a nonprofessional office staff.
  • Requires ability to operate manual and automated office equipment.
